Speechless….. new Isareli designer
Amsale Aberra needs no introduction. Amsale launched her collection in 1985 and has been seen on television , opened a flagship store in Madison Avenue and many brides/ celebrities have worn her glamorous, classic and elegant gowns. She is making ways for other designer of color who desire to enter into the bridal industry. I truly enjoy seeing her collection every season. When the models walk down the runway, all her gowns are breathtaking. I am proud to highlight Amsale Aberra in our Black History Style File this week.
This young designer from Australia knows how to make a woman feel sexy and beautiful. Paolo Sebastian is very popular on instagram and pinterest.
In 2007, Paul Vasileff, the designer launched his first couture collection and he was only 17 years old. He has captivated the media and clients with his whimsical and designs. To all my New York brides, the collection can be found at Mark Ingram Atelier. Look below for some amazing gowns.
Some may know that I work as a bridal consultant on the weekends. I help brides find their dream wedding gowns. This weekend, one my future brides showed me this new line based in Israel, Lihi Hod. Again, the Israeli designers are taking this bridal industry by storm. They are sure keeping other designers on their toes. I absolutely love it as it brings a fresh look into the market.
Lihi Hod was born and raised in Tel Aviv, and fashion design has always been an integral part of her life.
Upon graduation, Lihi was approached by legendary fashion designer John Galliano and worked with him in Paris at the fashion house, Dior. She specialized in developing the details of the haute couture department under the brand.
Lihi Hod bridal gowns are truly unique in their design, fabrics and silhouettes. Depth is created by combining layers of opaque and transparent fabrics such as silk chiffons and tulles with a variety of laces. Swarovski crystals, glass beads and gemstones are used in true couture techniques. The collection features low cut backs on many styles.
Each Lihi Hod gown is specially made to measure, creating a perfect fit and a truly couture process. All gowns are made by hand under the direction of the designer.
Lihi Hod gowns range from $5,600 – $10,000. The collection can be found at Gabriella New York Bridal Salon.
Check out some of my favorites….
I just wrapped up fashion week and I am now on the hunt for new designers to scope out during Bridal Market Week in October. While posting the gown of the day on Instagram, some one suggested Leanne Marshall. Who is that, I asked? My curiosity was satisfied.
Did you know Leanne Marshall was on Project Runway? I must watch again to find great talent.
Leanne was selected as a contestant for Season 5 of Project Runway. With an unwavering determination, she made it all the way to the finale where she showed her, now famous, wave inspired collection in shades of turquoise, ivory and sand. The judges, and audiences worldwide, were captivated by her final collection and Leanne was crowned the winner.
With touches of classic and modern, sophistication and youth, Leanne Marshall has captured an effortless grace and timeless elegance in her collection.
Let us check out some of my favorite looks. I look forward to checking out the new collection for market.
