Designer To Watch – Jennifer Black Spring 2019 Collection

Shopping for a cause is the way to go! I had an opportunity to preview this New York base bridal collection  called Jennifer Black.  A portion of each Jennifer Black gown sold is donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation, a foundation to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Brides if you are looking for an elegant and structured wedding gown, this is the brand for you.  You will be making an impact the day of your wedding as well to a good cause.  Here are some of my favorite looks.

Gorgeous Black Models at NYC Bridal Market Week

When I first started covering the bridal market, I was so excited about the opportunity to be introduced to a different world besides fashion. My first job was for a  prominent black owned fashion and lifestyle magazine. When I gave my editor  my wrap up story,I was asked “where are the black models that we can post”.  I was only able to give five images. Being so excited about attending  bridal market, I didn’t even notice the lack of diversity. I was just happy to see beautiful gowns. This season, I was thrilled to see different shades showcasing stunning gowns and high-five to the designers that hired them.

The bridal industry is for everyone, as we have brides all over the world who buy magazines and visit the websites to get inspirations. It is important to have  representation on the runways and advertisement.  I am usually not one to cover issues and only focus on fashion but I was really delighted to see women who look like me walk proudly down the runway with  beautiful gowns.  Looking forward to October Market to see more.

NAEEM KHAN Spring 2019 Bridal Collection

Naeem Khan has always been my favorite ready to wear designer and his bridal collection is just as magnificent.  I walked into his showroom to see fringes, a touch of gold and embroidery. The collection was a little girls fairy tale.  The vibe in the room was very eclectic has the models showcased pants suits, capes, jumpsuits with a detachable train, sparkle and a twist on a traditional a line gown. Ladies, you will not be disappointed with this collection, I am still dreaming about each look. Brides, be on the look out for the trunk shows.

AMSALE FALL 2018 COLLECTION

For over 30 years, Amsale has been an icon for designs that are powerful in their simplicity. Drama, she believes, emerges when a single, striking detail—unexpected volume, juxtaposing lines, an oversized origami bow—is offset by a clean silhouette.

Staying true to our signature, this collection explores the impact of sculptural detail from subtle to high-drama, in five variations: shimmering jewel embellishments; eye-catching, asymmetrical draping; softly voluminous skirts; sumptuous, textured jacquard; and surprising, gestural organza appliques. Unmistakably Amsale in its visual balance, each gown merges one mesmerizing sculptural element with a classic silhouette.
